Food is Fuel

We like to be very proud of ourselves when we eat well. And we should. Taking care of our bodies and being intentional about how we eat is not easy, especially in this day and age. However, we need to be careful that we aren’t misconstruing the actual value of food. Food is fuel - no matter what you eat. It will fuel you and that is its sole purpose. How we have been taught to see it is that healthy food is good and others aren’t. I use the phrase “others” because there’s not even any solid info on what is “bad”! That’s because it all is fuel.
Until we can stop judging food (and the humans who consume it) we won’t be able to listen to our own bodies and understand what THEY want to fuel it. What does your body love? (not your tastebuds, your body) How do you feel the next day after pasta? achey? or energized? what about a high fat/low carb meal? sluggish? or motivated?
No one - not me, not a doctor, not an infomercial - can tell you what you need. Take time to look at your nutrition from a factual standpoint - not a judgmental one. The sooner you learn to listen to your body, the sooner you will reach whatever (realistic) health goals you have.
How can you remove food judgement today? What can you do to start to honor your system?
You are beautiful and amazing, Lovie. What you choose to eat or how you look is irrelevant. Find ways to love you, today.

I love you!!
